  1. Kitty Litter 7.0  is a color/B&W trash can replacement for 
  2. System 7.  When the trash is empty, a smiling cat sits behind his clean litter box.  When you trash something, the kitty exits, leaving a stinking mess behind.  When you Dump Kitty Litter (empty trash), the cat returns, happy again.

  4. Suggestion: Get SoundMaster and some cat sounds and link the empty trash event to a cat meow.

  6. Installing Kitty Litter with ResEdit:

  8. Make a copy of the Finder and System files (Option-Drag the files from System Folder to the top volume level).

  10. Open the file named "Kitty Litter 7.0" with Resedit.

  12. Open the Finder and System copies with Resedit.
  13.  
  14. Copy all resources except STR# from Kitty Litter 7.0 to the System copy. When asked to replace resouces with the same ID# answer in the affirmative.

  16. Copy the STR# resource from Kitty Litter to the Finder copy. When asked to replace resouces with the same ID# answer in the affirmative.

  18. Save the System and Finder copies and quit Resedit.
  19.  
  20. Replace the System and Finder with the System and Finder copies. Drag the current System and Finder out of the System Folder to a temporary folder. Move the new System and Finder into the System Folder.  Restart your computer. Don't throw the original System & Finder until you are certain everything is ok.
